COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC ADVOCACY INTERNSHIP

 

Overview of responsibilities

The intern will assist in the development, coordination and implementation of communication and outreach tasks, including the organisation of events and the drafting of content for publications, online media and other channels.
Typical tasks assigned to the intern/trainee may include the following:

  • To conduct research on key topics according to strategic priorities;
  • To support colleagues in the development of research articles, concept notes, or other communications materials;
  • To support colleagues in the development of new social media content;
  • To support colleagues in the organization of key events, meetings, conferences;
  • To liaise with internal colleagues to ensure communications material is up-to-date and relevant;
  • To maintain A-id’s website
  • To maintain the newsletter

The tasks assigned may be reviewed during contract period to reflect changes in programme needs and priorities.

Candidate’s profile

Agenda for International Development welcomes qualified candidates interested to work for a period of six months, on an unpaid and part time basis (20 HOURS/WEEK).

Candidates should be enrolled in or hold a university-level programme or a graduate programme either in development studies, political science, economics, philosophy, or a related subject.

The internship will be home-based.

Candidates must be fluent in English.

RESOURCE MOBILIZATION AND PARTERNSHIPS INTERNSHIP

 

Overview of responsibilities

The intern will assist in the development, coordination and implementation of communication and outreach tasks, including the organisation of events and the drafting of content for publications, online media and other channels.

Typical tasks assigned to the intern/trainee may include the following:

  • To support colleagues in the development of strategic partnership with all donors (governments, private sectors, foundations and other non-state actors);
  • To support compliance with obligations to donors and other partners;
  • To assist with drafting proposal and documentation for A-id resource mobilization efforts;
  • To support colleagues in the organization of key events, meetings, conferences;
  • To maintain and update a donor database;

The tasks assigned may be reviewed during contract period to reflect changes in programme needs and priorities.
