A gendered analysis is key to understand how societies work today. Gender bias and social stigmas are high on the agenda of progressive policy makers around the world. We aim to contribute to the global effort to end all forms of discrimination against women, girls, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender men and women. Deeply rooted gender-based discrimination often results from social norms and patriarchal attitudes. Our work investigates the intersectional processes that deprive women, girls and LGBTI communities of their basic rights and opportunities.
Specific areas of competence include: gender based violence, masculinity, representation, performative identities, sexuality, strategies of empowerment, rights-based approach, LGBTI, formal, informal and domestic labour.
